Roman Forum
This is an old picture taken by Giorgio Sommer of the Roman Forum around 1865. There's probably nobody still alive from the time this picture was taken, but what remains is what our Roman friends left behind. Roman Forum was the gathering center of ancient Rome for centuries and centuries, that directly and indirectly influenced other civilizations on this planet. It is our duty to ensure that we carry the torch from our ancestors and make it stronger. The fire of an idea whose main components is inscribed everywhere: Senatus Populusque Romanus (The Senate and the people of Rome). We can learn from the heritage they left for us, the people of Earth, to keep this fire alive with dignity, majesty, authority and our freedom.
The way history and the morals of the past generations are open to our interpretation, our actions and morals are equally open to future generations' interpretation. We can learn from the past, take the best parts and better ourselves for a better future. It is true that mos maiorum (or the way of the ancestors) has changed through passage of time but sometimes we need to pause for a second to remove new flaws or remove old flaws. It's 2020 and we're just old enough to finally try to fix racism for good. We're all so flawed and will remain so, but we simply can't ignore our own flaws anymore.
Looking at pictures of past, I learned more of Rome's rich history that I decided to dedicate a category of my upcoming posters to this heritage. Even though I am not a true Roman myself, but I also believe like Romans that all authority must always come from people and it is our responsibility (and a duty to our ancestors) to ensure that we stay true to the freedom that was never given for free.
This would make a very nice poster in our homes to remind us of the past of our own planet. The columns on the left are remains of the Temple of Saturn (from ~500BC). A fine poster for fine people, it's a giclée-print on a durable archival matte paper so the ink doesn't fade away after years on the wall. All prints are shipped two to five business days after your purchase and they're shipped rolled in a tube. It might not be a lot of fun to flatten it when you receive it. However, it would be ideal if you have a frame to use right away. Please note that this item is just the poster itself and does not include the frame.
